Annual Diabetic Foot Assessment

An Annual Diabetic Foot Assessment is intended for patients who have already been diagnosed with diabetes.  Regular diabetic foot assessments are an important part of preventing complications and maintaining healthy feet. This annual appointment typically lasts up to 30 minutes and includes a detailed assessment of the circulation and sensation in your feet. This helps us determine your level of risk of developing diabetic foot complications, such as foot ulceration, and allows us to provide appropriate advice and preventative care.

Where required, a report can be prepared and emailed to your GP or practice nurse to support your ongoing diabetes care.  During your appointment, you will also receive tailored diabetic foot care advice, including guidance on how to help protect your feet and reduce the risk of future complications.

New Patients

At your first appointment, we will take a comprehensive medical history, including details of any medications you are taking and any relevant health conditions or concerns. We will also carry out an initial foot assessment, including vascular screening, to assess the overall health of your feet.

Returning Patients

For returning patients, your medical details will be reviewed and updated as required, and routine assessments will be repeated where appropriate.
